FARM VISITS

We often get asked if people can visit the farm. Unfortunately due to the nature of our work :: we are a working farm run by a small crew, and thus spend all of our time working hard in the fields, attending markets and making deliveries, with any spare time used for breathing, unfortunately we just aren't able to accommodate farm visits. We do host a special event or two each year where we invite folks to visit the farm. To hear about such events, please join our email list.

ROLLING RESIDENTIALS & VOLUNTEERS

Unfortunately the conventional globalized agriculture has created industrialized food system of disconnect.  We now have unprecedented land clearing and rural communities are displaced in a global land and water grab to keep the system expanding. We're witnessing diminishing plant variety and diversity. We now have higher dependence on fossil fuels and synthetic chemicals, all of which are reaching their peak while the agriculture sector contributes to 33% of global greenhouse gas emissions. We have small and family farms rapidly declining with corporate agribusiness taking over. Obesity and diabetes now affects 400 million people and 40% of food purchased is wasted.

The time for change is now and according to the UN, small-scale farming can, does and must feed the world if we want a world to live in.

I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to woof and 'intern' where farms and farmers opened their farms, home and hearts to give me the opportunity to learn about small scale regenerative farming models. We at RADgrowers now feel it's time to return the favour.

We take our ecological and ethical responsibilities seriously and we're keen to share our skills and knowledge to help grow the growers in this fair food movement.

If you're committed to a life working in regenerative, ethical agriculture, we are now offering on farm learning residentials and also work-share volunteering opportunities.

These immersions are not for the faint hearted and are specifically for people with a real passion for food production. We believe that the future of our planet relies on a global transition towards regenerative agricultural practices that nurture soil health, improve landscapes, drawdown carbon and produce nutrient dense food. We believe the future of Australian agriculture demands a push towards sustainability, efficiency, zero waste and ethical production.

Our goal is to teach you as much as we can and to give you a valuable experience in small scale farming that you can't get in a classroom.  You can expect informal mentoring and on the job learning, with the option of a full immersion via a live on-farm residential which equals approx a 30 - 35 hr / week or a work share volunteer program where volunteers commit to one day per week for a minimum of three months.

So if your interested in taking a chunk of time out of your busy life and getting hands on RAD style this coming season ::
